This necklace features a sgraffito technique Evan insisted would be perfect to incorporate into this series…and he couldn’t have been more right! Pine trees are so special to me and have continued to retain their starring role amongst all forms of my art for quite some time now. Maybe it’s their evergreen nature, a dependable color claiming consistency within a landscape that's otherwise ever changing all year long. Maybe it’s their adaptability and strength, or a root system that can stretch out and around such a large space of land. Not to mention the little crescent moon making her appearance to light the evening for these pines to enjoy themselves collectively?? Say less.
The Guiding Light Necklace
Each necklace is a hand crafted ceramic charm produced by Evan Marnell and then glazed with my designs. Evan then fires the pieces and hands them off once more to me to then send out to you on a stainless steel 18” chain that is both gorgeous and built to last!
Consider this a first iteration of many to follow. An act that keeps going, that continues on through a myriad of periods-all differently shaped through their own circumstances. They may not come quickly, in fact they have to travel long distances between the two of us before they can even think about approaching you. But I promise, they will be created in small batches with an originality that shines just as bright as yourself and were handled with more love than you can imagine! I care so much about this project because it’s a reflection of such a precious and important friendship I am privileged enough to be half of. One that transcends space and time and now gets to be documented through a collaboration that can exist in so many different corners of the world, and maybe even around your neck-close to your own heart!
These pendants are strong and durable, built to last a lifetime, yet delicate and careful in their designs. Carrying tiny little brushstrokes that take on a larger image. Images of things and feelings that being me peace and light.
