This mug sat unglazed in my collection for a long time. I wasn't sure how I wanted to proceed with it after spending so much time carving the lovely scene that captures the feeling of looking across the harbor at the lighthouse that sits at the end of Artist's Point. I finally decided to keep it simple, using monochromatic blues to bring out the elegance of the scene itself. Maybe this mug will finally find it's way back to Grand Marais, or maybe it will join the collection of someone who holds the little town near and dear to their own heart.
