Based on my woodcut 'As Above, So Below,' I wanted to take the carved inspiration behind the paper work and translate it onto a mug for you to enjoy in a new form. 'As Above, So Below' is an original woodcut print that speaks to the essence of the North Shores of Lake Superior. An intricately carved rendition of moments jumping between rocks that formed as glaciers moved millions of years ago. Indentations that create small pools allow for new reflections that obscure the known of what is and what was the landscape that lies above. Clouds swirl into waves and fractions in rocks mimic intertwined branches. A constellation of endless little new treasured discoveries can be found each time the print is viewed again. An ever-changing tribute to an ever-evolving land.
