Hideaway is a massive relief print that was originally made to calm my anxieties about printing the largest block I had ever carved before. I wanted to test out my printing abilities in the new co-op space I had joined. After spending some time mimicking similar line styles, I found myself happy with the outcome of this print! I wanted to capture the serenity of being out on your own little corner of the world. Looking out on endless waves that dance and create their own narrative, not always reflecting reality back to us in the way we perceive our surroundings to be. I think this would be a fun print for the escapist who can’t often get in the car and just keep driving, or whoever actually has a little house on the corner of Lake Street and the End of the World.
